 I will explain Buddha's formula ("Sho-ko") which accounts for 90% nearly of Japanese funeral.

➀Follow the guidance staff in the funeral hall and you will go to the "sho-ko" table.

②Take a bow to the mourning owner ("moshu") and relatives.
*You will be careful do not point your ass to the altar At this time .

③Pinch the incense with your thumb, forefinger, middle finger.
*If you have beads at this time, hold it your left hand.

④Raise the incense to the forehead.
*Some sects do not put incense on the forehead.

⑤Put into the incense burner.
*Please be careful of burns.

Repeat ③ ~ ⑤ one to three times
*The behavior of ③ ~ ⑤ is different depending on sect

⑦Align hands against the altar 's deceased.
*Take a bow a little.

⑧Turn and Take a bow to the mourning owner ("moshu") and relatives.

⑨Return to your seat quietly or leave.
